SUCCESS STORIES

Terri Brummet

Total 125lbs, 55in & 6%BF

During the Summer of 2014, I had reached an all time low with emotions and an all time high with my weight.  I had gotten to the point that I would avoid certain places because the seating would not fit my body. I turned down a free trip to Africa just because I knew I couldn’t handle being on a plane; stuck in a tiny seat for that many hours. I would come home and just melt into the couch.  It was at this point I was introduced to RSF by a dear friend. She told me ‘Let’s do this 90 day challenge together.’ I told her that I couldn’t afford it… so she paid for me and darn it, now I was obligated to follow through. Now, I can honestly admit that I owe this friend my life. If it hadn’t been for her and RSF, I would still be stuck to my couch. That first weigh in was so embarrassing, 352 lbs. on a 5’3” frame. I cried when I got to my car that day. I hadn’t realized that I had gotten that big. I had tried gyms and tried a multitude of diets, but was never consistent enough, or driven enough to find sustained success. That first month of the challenge was hard. I was embarrassed that I couldn’t keep up with everyone else. I was sure they were looking at me in disgust…but at Rock Solid, that wasn’t the case. The other participants were worried about just getting the workout done; just challenging themselves to reach their own goals. And the people that were paying attention to me, were the ones that were telling me how proud they were of me for what I was doing. This is what support looks like! This is how you find success! This is what makes RSF different. 90 days later, 50+ lbs down and I was addicted! No longer was food my coping mechanism. If I had a bad day, I was going to the gym! Another 90 day challenge in and I had almost lost 100 lbs. It has been a little over a year now and I am down a little over 100lbs, but my size keeps shrinking. I was a 26 in women’s when I started and now I own jeans that are a size 14. I have lost a total of 57 inches overall… that’s almost 5 feet! Rock Solid has done so much for me. I am a completely different person now. I’m happy, I’m active, I’m paying attention to what I’m putting into my body. I now look forward to doing things like 5ks; things that will continue to challenge me.
